The Story
From a young age, I was building and selling things. If I wasn’t making small gadgets or toys, I was collecting scrap metals – copper, aluminum, brass – and learning how to negotiate, hustle, and make a living. I found joy in scrapyards. To others, it was junk. To me, it was a goldmine of potential.
Every toy my parents bought me lasted two days at most not because they broke, but because I had to open them up and figure out how they worked. Radios fascinated me. “How can voices and music come out of this tiny box?” That question led me to open up radios and discover motors, motherboards, and circuits. I taught myself electronics by taking apart and fixing broken things.
As a teenager, I spent hours in electronics repair shops just watching. I’d study how technicians used voltmeters and soldering irons, learning the components – resistors, capacitors, motors – and absorbing the logic behind how things work.
Eventually, I gained enough confidence to fix things I’d never seen before. I became fluent in the language of electronics. In my parents’ house, my bedroom was 80% electronics, wires, machines. Even today, in my own apartment, one room is for sleeping – the other is my lab.
From a kid taking apart radios in Kenya to an innovator designing custom lighting solutions in Belgium, my journey has been anything but ordinary. TwilightDesigns 3D is a reflection of everything I’ve learned and loved – creativity, curiosity, technology, and entrepreneurship.
